Project Aim
The proposed project is to use our current biosensors to build a diffusion property tester for porous tissue scaffolds and biomaterials, and to verify market need through independent market research.
Inspiration for the projects
Optimized nutrient transport and fluid flow in 3D porous tissue scaffolds materials is critical for the vitality of the cells in the scaffolds. Currently there is no commercially available tester that can accurately measure permeability of tissue scaffolds in real time.
Commercial Potential and Further Development
The expected outputs of this project are:
(1) Fabrication of a basic diffusion property tester for biomaterials,
(2) Independent market evaluation
(3) Interdisciplinary programme with Chinese partner to ultimately set up a commercial development
