UK-China Innovation Forum and Technology Partnering Workshop on Internet of Things
Run by FCO/BIS Science Innovation Network (SIN), ESP KTN and Innovation China UK (ICUK) this event will bring together over 80 companies and research institutes from the UK and China to provide a great opportunity for companies present products and technologies, seek R&D and business partners and exchange innovative ideas. Areas of particular interest to our Chinese partners include advanced sensors, control chips, integrated systems, open platform standards in the application areas of automobile electronics, security, intelligent city management (transportation, logistics, building), healthcare and manufacturing processes as well as novel business models for IoT applications.
Over the past two years, the Chinese Government has greatly incentivised the industry development in the field of IoT as an important way to promote the competitiveness of the ICT industries and to cultivate growth for new applications around city living. Wuxi, a city in Jiangsu Province has boasted the largest IoT industry cluster in China. An £80 million Internet of Things Centre has also just been announced in Shanghai. There are now great opportunities for innovative UK companies in the IOT sectors to enter and thrive in the Chinese market.
This event will include:
- A high-level forum with speakers from key Chinese policy makers in IoT development including the Shanghai Centre of Internent of Things, the Chinese National IoT Research and Development Centre and key industry players.
- An opportunity for UK participants to present their products/technologies to targeted local IoT industry community.
- One-to-one discussions with Chinese companies and research institutes with a view to forming business partnerships.
- One day of company or site visits.
ICUK will undertake a technology partnering exercise with enterprises based in Shanghai and Wuxi to determine whether UK applicants are offered places at the event. This exercise ensures effective discussion and partnering. A travel grant of £600 and 4 nights free accommodation will be offered to 8-10 successful applicants.
