Queen Mary Launches China Initiative

Queen Mary, University of London is leading an initiative to promote joint research and technology transfer between the UK and China.

Innovation China UK will help academic institutions from the two countries to partner with businesses and commercialise their research findings. Queen Mary is joined in the programme by the University of London, King’s College London, the University of Nottingham, the Royal Veterinary College, the University of Southampton and 10 Chinese organisations.
The project us being supported by £5 million in funding from the Higher Education Innovation Fund and a similar investment from the Chinese Ministry of Science Technology.
Participating organisations will focus their work on areas of strategic importance to the UK and China. These include energy, climate change and sustainable environment, infectious diseases, biomedicine and drug discovery, nanotechnology and material science and space technology.
